ATLANTA - October 16, 2002 - CoreNet Global, the leading association for corporate real estate executives, today announced the creation of CoreNet Global Learning Communities, designed to serve the unique needs, interests and business objectives of members in specific industries. The first phase of this new initiative is dedicated to members in the manufacturing industries.
The Communities of Learning program has evolved over the past year, starting with CoreNet Global's two predecessor organizations' programs, NACORE's Special Interest Groups and IDRC's Discovery Forums, and improving through the dedication of CoreNet Global Learning's staff and the availability of affordable, scalable, collaborative technology platforms.
"The launch of the CoreNet Global Community of Learning is a logical extension of the highly successful programs that CoreNet Global offers today," said Bruce Russell, Chief Learning Officer of CoreNet Global Learning. "The commitment we have already seen from the manufacturing sector has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, and we look forward to expanding the number of industry Communities offered during the coming months."
Each Community of Learning will be designed with the senior real estate executive in mind, and will offer benefits including:
Specialized content in an exclusive setting - Members retain all the advantages of a global learning organization, while enjoying an intimate small group environment that facilitates learning and networking with peers that have similar interests and objectives.
New opportunities to lead - Communities of Learning provide corporate real estate executives with new opportunities to lead peers, set meaningful agendas for collaborative knowledge development and influence their industry.
New activities, programming and ways to get involved - Each Community of Learning will feature programming appropriate for its members and their interests, and may include special forums, teleconferences, web-based collaboration, programs at Global Summits and other networking opportunities.
Actionable knowledge available 24/7 - To support the knowledge management needs of community members, CoreNet Global will be launching a web-based technology platform that includes collaboration tools, secure spaces for individual interaction, and document management capabilities.
Discussions targeted at your evolving needs and interests - Communities of Learning provide the ability to leverage findings from other CoreNet Global activities or knowledge from other sources for the specific needs of community members. Community members can then discuss, modify or add to this knowledge to meet the needs of the group.
Affordable new value - Learning Communities are much more than social networks. They are member-led, staff-managed, technology-enabled environments for people to share their experience and lessons learned with others. CoreNet Global Learning has made this service affordable by leveraging available resources and subsidizing the launch so that it can be offered for a nominal subscription fee to members.
CoreNet Global Learning is planning to launch several more Communities of Learning over the coming months. Potential areas include: Financial Services, High Tech, Six Sigma, Location Strategy, Integrated Infrastructure Management, Service Delivery, Outsourcing & Alliance Management, Workplace Strategies, and CorpRE Technology and the Web Management of International CorpRE Operations.
Annual subscription to CoreNet Global Learning Communities is available exclusively to CoreNet Global members, and is offered at $150 for end-user members and $300 for service provider members.
