Corporate real estate (CRE) as we know it today is remarkably young in the context of the broader evolution and expansion of global business, economics and commerce. While the occupation and professional management of CRE is not a new phenomenon, the maturity and sophistication of how large corporations manage real estate assets and make occupancy decisions has changed dramatically over the past two or three decades. Moreover, the past decade has seen a transformational evolution in the centralization and globalization of corporate real estate operating models. A rapidly maturing service provider landscape, coupled with significant advances in the development and utilization of CRE technologies, have been driving forces behind the globalization of CRE. This session will chart the evolution and globalization of CRE operating models for a number of the world’s most respected corporations and explore their journey towards the delivery of a truly global workplace strategy for their organizations.
