Roy Abernathy
Executive Vice President, Newmark
Roy Abernathy joined Newmark in December 2017 and currently leads the Workplace and Consulting practice in the firm’s Global Corporate Services (GCS) division. A 27-year workplace veteran, Abernathy has substantial expertise in development, sustainability, energy performance, business process, change management, workplace strategy and commercial real estate. He has been involved in more than 15 million square feet of real estate transactions within the corporate, law, communications, education and healthcare sectors, including four of the largest U.S. corporate mergers during the 1990s. Transactions have ranged from single facility transactions to those with more than 10,000 facilities. Abernathy also leads the Newmark New Normal Team which is focused on assisting clients to create new ways of working post-COVID-19. He and his team work with public and private institutions on planning and implementing new ways of using space in the initial stages of occupancy through what will become the new normal. Abernathy has put together platforms that address the technology, physical and behavioral changes needed to create a safe and supportive environment as we reshape work and workplace.
Ellen Albert
EVP Global Real Estate & Facilities, Paramount
Ellen Albert, AIA, is the Executive Vice President of Global Real Estate and Facilities for ViacomCBS based in New York. In this role, she is responsible for the overall strategic direction of ViacomCBS global real estate portfolio which includes over 20M square feet of office, TV Station, studio and production space for ViacomCBS divergent businesses including CBS Entertainment, ViacomCBS Media Networks (MTV, Nickelodeon, CMT, Comedy Central, Paramount Network) as well as Showtime and BET, ViacomCBS Consumer Products, Pluto, Paramount+ and ViacomCBS Networks International. Ms. Albert is a member of CoreNet Global having previously served on the Board of the NYC Chapter and on their Education, Programming and Professional Development Committees. Ms. Albert holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and received a BA in Art History and French from Emory University. Howard Behar

Mr. Howard Behar's career in business spans over 50 years, all in consumer-oriented businesses covering several industries. He retired from Starbucks Coffee after 21 years where he led both the domestic business, as President of North America, and was the founding President of Starbucks International. During his tenure, he participated in the growth of the company from 28 stores to over 15,000 stores spanning five continents. He served on the Starbucks Board of Directors for 12 years before retiring. Mr. Behar is currently a Trustee for the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation and is on the advisory board of Anthos Capital. Based in Redmond Washington, Brian is currently responsible for leading Microsoft’s Real Estate and Strategic Planning, Change Management and Accessibility initiatives across the companies 14m square feet corporate headquarters. In addition, Brian leads the Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities Supported Employment Program. Brian joined Microsoft in 1996 as the Facilities Manager for the Dublin campus, and in his previous roles with Microsoft he was responsible for and Facility management for EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) where he coordinated facilities activities over 160 locations in 50+ countries, Brian also led the Global Workplace Strategies Group; defining and driving the ‘Workplace Advantage (WPA)’ program; including Workplace research, knowledge management, change management project consulting across Microsoft’s global portfolio. Lisa Conway is the Vice President of Sustainability, Americas, for Interface, the global flooring manufacturer that is leading industry to love the world. She and her team are responsible for regional activation of the company’s mission: Climate Take Back. She is passionate about bringing awareness to the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability and human health. To drive understanding of the impact of carbon on human health, Lisa and her team provide educational programming around the need for transparency and prioritization of embodied carbon in specifications within the building industry. She co-founded the materials Carbon Action Network (materialsCAN) in 2018 to mobilize this effort. Lisa also serves as the Chair of the Sustainable Advisory Board for Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business and is on the Executive Board of Directors of the non-profit Building Transparency. Tim Corneau joined Sodexo in 2010 as a Senior Application Deployment Specialist, Business Technology Manager and Health Care Market Asset Management Team Director in the development and deployment of CMMS and FM Technologies for Health Care Facility Solutions. Mary Curtiss
Global Head of Sustainability, Renewable Energy and EHS Programs, HP Inc.
Mary has over 20 years of experience in the construction and sustainability industry. As the Global Head of Energy and Sustainability, she is responsible for developing and driving HP’s strategy for all matters related to renewable energy, sustainability and energy efficiency in the global portfolio. HP has established a goal of 100% renewable electricity as well as a 25% reduction on carbon emissions based on 2015. Sustainability is core to our values at HP and is demonstrated in how we do business. Prior to coming onboard with HP, Inc., Mary was with Siemens as a National Director for Enterprise Efficiency. In this role she worked with external clients on energy program solutions as well as the Siemens' global energy efficiency program to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Mary was previously at JLL and responsible for business development and program execution for JLL’s Sustainability Business. Here she managed a team of thirty Energy and Sustainability professionals to achieve client results. Vincent’s background in hospitality and operations gives him a unique perspective on how organizations can leverage the workplace as a strategic tool in the overall employee value proposition. In his spare time, Vincent enjoys building and learning new things. He started a small business focusing on helping communities rejuvenate abandoned properties and recently earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Scott Weiskopf

Scott Weiskopf is our Director of the GWS Center of Innovation (COI). As the COI leader, he manages the COI’s innovation pipeline and strategy, the GWS Digital Transformation and modernization strategy, and forward-looking technology roadmap. He also supports our product teams, technology partners, and Account and industry teams representing GWS. Scott started his RE&S career in October 2019. Scott is a 15-year veteran of Microsoft and over the span of his successful career, he has worked on various enterprise-wide initiatives, such as global privacy programs, a mobile experiences App Studio, MS Mobile App Certification and Publishing programs, and an HR digital transformation program. He has a solid history of co-developing enterprise scenarios with the Microsoft product groups to solve business problems and has helped to deliver those solutions to external customers as showcases. Scott has also been an active participant in product group Go to Market (GTM) strategies. Prior to joining Microsoft, Scott held various positions at Dell Inc., driving multiple global technical solutions, tools, and data management. He was also a founder at a VC funded startup company in Austin, TX, and a Consulting Manager with Ernst & Young Management Consulting, in their oil and gas practice in Houston, TX, where he worked on large ERP programs. Scott holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin and a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, Albany.

Wright rose to fame as a commercial country music singer in the '90s–– enjoying years of critical acclaim, industry recognition, touring and chart-topping success. She made history in 2010 by becoming the first artist in the genre to publicly come out as gay, which she wrote about in her memoir entitled Like Me, published by Random House. In 2011, the Emmy-nominated and multiple award-wining documentary, Wish Me Away, chronicled Chely’s coming out journey, cementing the film as essential-viewing among LGBTQ audiences, faith communities, learning institutions and beyond. In addition to her long-standing relationships with key advocacy organizations, Wright has served on multiple boards including GLSEN, T.J. Martell and Faith in America. She is also the founder of two non-profits; Reading, Writing & Rhythm which raised $1M+ to support music and arts in public schools and The LikeMe Organization, established to provide resources for the LGBTQ community and their families. With decades of experience in public speaking across multiple mediums, Chely enjoys leveraging the power of storytelling to create change, especially in corporate spaces; addressing companies like Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Morgan Stanley, etc. to advance meaningful discussions about diversity, equity and inclusion.
