Putting it Together
It’s more than bricks and mortar that corporate real estate (CRE) professionals are charged with putting together these days. Piece-by-piece you’re shaping and influencing how and where work gets done—work that is undoubtedly more collaborative and complex within corporate ecosystems. That critical connection between HR, IT, and CRE, not to mention ESG and DEI, has become increasingly important in a post-pandemic world.
The interconnectedness of people, place, and technology told from the perspectives of a place maker, tech space thought leader, and a disability advocate—Explore with us during the Opening General Session at the CoreNet Global Summit in Amsterdam. Three compelling stories. Three thought-provoking topics to challenge and inform your work. Three distinct puzzle pieces. All you have to do is put them together ...
David Engwicht turns spaces into places much like one turns a house into a home. He pioneered agile methods of placemaking which focus on "doing" rather than planning or talking. He's a passionate designer, artist, author, communicator, and social inventor known as one of the world’s most inventive thinkers on creating vibrant public spaces. Nothing gives him greater joy than working with communities to breathe new life into dead spaces – and telling the stories of how they all came together.
At the age of 11, Anne-Marie Imafidon was the youngest girl ever to pass A-level computing, and was just 20 years old when she received her Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford. She co-founded the Stemettes, an award-winning social initiative dedicated to inspiring and promoting the next generation of young women in the STEM sectors. In her work she explores what’s next in technology and how it will impact the future of work.
Disability is still a barrier to employment for millions of people – but it doesn’t have to be this way. Drawing on her own experience in the medical profession, Dr. Hannah Barham-Brown argues that people with disabilities are an asset more employers need to harness. She is a tireless campaigner for the rights of disabled people, particularly in the world of work.

Richard Van Hooijdonk
Trendsetter and Futurist
It’s never been more important to look ahead, while also learning from the past. If the previous two years have taught us anything, it’s “be prepared,” because the world might change at the drop of a pin. While these big changes and challenges can be difficult to decipher and stay ahead of, it’s never been more important for corporate real estate professionals and the businesses they serve to aim to do just that.
Trendwatcher and futurist Richard Van Hooijdonk is an authority on new technology and he is driven by a desire to inject innovation and imagination into the mindsets of the people and organizations who are going to shape the world of tomorrow. With the right forward-looking mindset, he believes that we can better effect change for the improvement of our health, happiness, and prosperity. During an invigorating session, Richard will focus on big trends such as how we will live and work in the future of tomorrow, before marrying these concepts to leadership, skills, and the importance of listening to and also mentoring the younger generations.
