Unilever Commits to Billion-Dollar Investment in Mexico
Unilever is poised to make a $1.5 billion investment in Mexico over the next three years that will boost production for the global consumer goods company.
The investment includes funds for a $407 million “new factory in the northern Mexico state of Nuevo Leon, which will specialize in beauty products and personal care,” according to a report in Reuters.
Unilever’s investment is also expected to generate over a thousand new jobs and aligns with the government’s “Plan Mexico” initiative, an effort by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum “to increase investment in Mexico by domestic and foreign companies.”
