CoreNet Global and Members of Corporate Real Estate Community Take Diversity Pledge
ATLANTA (2 AUGUST, 2020) — Led by CoreNet Global, members of the corporate real estate community are pledging to eliminate discrimination and promote equality at their organizations.
The association has issued its own pledge and called on individuals to post their own versions.
“We commit to doing all we can, using our collective power, to eliminate discrimination and promote equality in the workplace. Discrimination in any form – including due to race, skin color, national origin, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or age – must be erased in the places we live and work,” the pledge begins. “CoreNet Global serves professionals from 50 countries around the world and recognizes the important role we can and should play in bringing a diverse and inclusive focus to all endeavors. We view this as a business imperative.”
More than 57 individuals have published their commitment to the pledge.
“We wanted to take a step that truly engaged the community and went beyond words,” said Angela Cain, CEO of CoreNet Global. “People are pledging to enact real and meaningful changes at their companies and individually,” Cain said.
In its pledge, CoreNet Global proposes several action items that the association is taking and suggests action items for members.
“We will guide our members to lead by example and will partner with diversity and inclusion experts to provide a welcoming environment for candid conversations and change starting NOW. We will take the following tangible actions at all levels of our global association as follows:
