Most Corporate Real Estate Professionals Say Employees Are Expected In the Office But Not Every Day of the Week
More Than a Third of Corporations Plan To Increase Office Space Over The Next Five Years
MAY 18, 2022 – ATLANTA, GA – A new survey conducted by CoreNet Global, the premier association for corporate real estate professionals, has found that companies are requiring their employees to come to the office for some part of the week, but very few are mandating that employees must be in the office five days a week.
The survey was conducted in April-May 2022 and yielded more than 450 responses from all regions including North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Many corporate real estate managers expect their portfolios to grow over the next five years. Thirty-eight percent of the respondents said they planned to increase the amount of office space they are using, while 62 percent predicted a net decrease.
Nearly half the respondents said that their companies were pulling back on remote work and requiring more workers to return to the office.
