ATLANTA, GA – AUGUST 9, 2023 — CoreNet Global, the leading professional association for corporate real estate professionals, will induct Erwin Chong and Irene Masterton, MCR into the 2023 CoreNet Global Distinguished Leaders Circle at the Recognition Dinner at the CoreNet Global Summit in Denver.
The CoreNet Global Distinguished Leaders Circle pays tribute to the pioneers, thought leaders, trailblazers, role models, mentors, change agents and provocateurs who help define and shape the corporate real estate profession through their body of work.
While CoreNet Global presents several awards based upon individual or group performance on a particular project or for a given year, the association began recognizing those who have career-long legacies of service and leadership within the association – and the profession. This recognition is deemed the highest honor to be bestowed upon a member.
Masterton is Commercial Adviser at Indigo Charlie Advisory Ltd and is affiliated with CoreNet Global’s United Kingdom chapter.
One of Masterton’s many accomplishments is a proven track record in spearheading operational and portfolio remodeling productivity which has secured multi-million-pound savings in operating costs. As a strong, decisive leader who excels in dynamic, demanding environments, Masterton has always remained focused on three key elements; delivery, establishing strong partnerships, and ensuring that stakeholder relationships are maintained at all times.
Masterton has been an active CoreNet Global member since the association’s inception and has served on the global board and played an instrumental role in developing the global MCR curriculum.
Chong is Managing Director, Group Head of Corporate Real Estate Strategy and Administration at DBS Bank in Singapore.
His achievements for the corporate real estate profession include leading the charge to achieve carbon neutrality across the bank’s operations in Singapore by the end of 2022. He also spearheaded the development of Singapore’s first net zero retrofit building by a bank, DBS Newton Green, which opened in July 2022. Chong led in the conceptualization of DBS Better World café—the bank’s first 11,300 square foot sustainable cafe. In addition, he consolidated real estate assets, including close to one million square feet of office and 45 branches for DBS’ acquisition of Citibank Taiwan’s that is due to complete in 2023 and acquisition close of to 600 branches, for India's Lakshmi Vilas Bank merger in 2020.
On behalf of CoreNet Global, Chong has served as the Singapore chapter chair, as a member of the CoreNet Global board, and has spoken at numerous CoreNet Global summits and events.
