Leadership for the Next Normal: Resilient, Adaptable, Curious
The role of the corporate real estate (CRE) leader has evolved over the past few years. The CRE leader of today’s "next normal" has to be increasingly in tune with what the business needs and wants are. That also means being comfortable in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world. CRE leaders have to understand and be attuned to the business from various perspectives. It’s no longer just about portfolio planning and leases. While those remain important and essential parts of what a corporate real estate team does, the business needs and realities of the present mean that CRE executives must understand everything from geopolitics, to climate change, and diversity and inclusion to supply chain and logistics.
