Racing with a Purpose

November 2017

In 2016 a four person team from EY enter, and won, the Race Across America, the world’s toughest sporting event, in the four person over 50 mixed category. This year, one of the four racers, Mark Gibson entered the same race, covering all 3076 miles, and 175,000 feet of elevation gain; solo. As with 2016, Mark will be racing in order to raise $250,000 for College MAP (Mentoring for Access and Persistence). Despite being a solo event, Mark will be entirely dependent upon his support crew of 8. Come and hear about the race, what is it like to race 3076 miles in only ten days, did Mark even finish? Did he win? Why do ultra-racers gather each year to race across the United States from California to Maryland for nothing more than a plaque and a bike shirt? Discover the Power of Purpose, and how one racer and 8 crew can come together as a Highest Performing Team. Get inspired and translate this into what you do each and every day at work!
