Tweak the Environment: Behavioural Design as a Catalyst for Change

Tweak the Environment: Behavioural Design as a Catalyst for Change

September 2016

The environment influences people more than we may think. Even small modifications to the environment can lead to an enormous impact. One of the major reasons why this happens is that people are operating on behavioural autopilots, which are triggered by habits and routines. This makes change sometimes really hard to realise and leads to a behavior that is not in favor of a change initiative. Behavioural Design can help overcoming the daily rut and favour the implementation of change. Analyzing and designing the environment can support and catalyst the success of initiatives that are in need of behavioural changes. People adapt to the culture and environment that they are in. So it’s better to build a great one.
