In order to ensure that the business is supported, it is important, according to Jonathan, “To be aware of what each of the various business units wants to make sure change is a success. We also want to evolve towards business flexibility.” This vision led to RBS Choice, a program that is agile, global, and promotes trust and flexibility. According to Jonathan, “The program was led by CRE. It helped that there was central cost allocation, which mean that the businesses didn’t feel the impact on their bottom line, leading to very little opposition.”
