Strategic Occupancy Planning

This article is a case study of the Union Bank of California's Strategic Occupancy Planning (SOP), which was implemented in 2003 as a part of an outsourcing agreement with the bank's service provider, Jones Lang LaSalle. Its purpose was to improve space utilization and reduce the amount of excess or vacant space it had in its portfolio. This case study illustrates the past three years of activities performed by Jones Lang LaSalle and Union Bank in establishing a foundation and planning through the second and third year.
