Valuing Flexibility in Leasing - Report Two - Executive Summary

April 2006

In this second research report on flexibility, CoreNet Global's Applied Research Center provides insight on the motivations behind flexibility and its value. The analysis and findings are based on a March 2006 survey of CRE industry leaders and experts that focused on flexibility in leasing. The survey results indicated that flexibility is more important in leasing than any other major CRE activity. The CoRE 2010 project confirmed the importance of CRE flexibility. In the new survey, 93 percent of industry leaders indicated a willingness to pay for flexibility in lease contract terms, confirming that industry leaders and experts understand the value and importance of flexibility.
