Linda DeMars Named Vice President of Program Development
ATLANTA NOVEMBER 23, 2004 CoreNet Global, the premier association for corporate real estate executives, named Dr. Prentice L. Knight III Chief Learning Officer, effective January 1, 2005. Knight previously was Vice President of Discovery for CoreNet Global and responsible for CoreNet Global Learning Department s processes and Discovery Forums.
CoreNet Global also appointed Linda DeMars Vice President of Program Development, effective immediately. Prior to this position, DeMars was the Director of Knowledge Networking for CoreNet Global where she was responsible for defining and implementing strategies, programs and technologies that enabled members to learn and share knowledge.
Prior to joining CoreNet Global in 1996, Dr. Knight was CEO of the International Development Research Council (IDRC), where under his leadership the organization expanded rapidly in membership and opened chapters worldwide. He was also a professor for 13 years at Dartmouth College and the University of Kansas and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
In his new role, Dr. Knight hopes to focus his efforts around three key goals; rapid development of the research program, close integration of research and knowledge, and efficient and effective delivery of the learning activities on a global basis. These three goals will help to provide all members with access to research and educational offerings.
Before DeMars joined CoreNet Global in 2002, she was a marketing executive for Johnson Controls Integrated Facility Management. Throughout her 20-year career at Johnson Controls, she held various roles in the disciplines of application engineering, sales, service, marketing and general management. DeMars earned her B.S. in engineering from Michigan State University, with a specialization in Industrial Design.
DeMars has made major contributions within CoreNet Global s learning programs and has been a key player in the development of Corporate Real Estate 2010 – as well as providing leadership for Global Summits outside of North America. In her new role as VP of Program Development, she will concentrate initially on creating an integrated Summit content planning process for all five of the Global Summits.
