Political Unrest in Hong Kong: What it Means for CRE For the past week, pro-democracy demonstrators have gathered in the streets in Hong Kong, demanding that the Chinese government allow open nominations for the territory’s first election in 2017. Thousands of mostly student demonstrators are jamming streets in key financial and commercial districts, and latest reports are that at least 40 people have been injured in clashes with police.
