Chapter Committees
To get the most out of your CoreNet Global membership, chapter involvement is a must. Listed below are the committees currently in place for the Atlanta Chapter. Feel free to contact the Committee Chair to find out more about their committee and joining!
SPONSORSHIP
John O'Hara (johara@hardinconstruction.com)
The Sponsorship committee runs the annual fund raising program based on a budget goal established by the board at the annual planning session. This committee engages all board members in this process by maintaining a Target list of companies for each board member. In addition, they track commitments, issue updated reports, help with invoices, letters and other collateral material and make all arrangements for two annual sponsor appreciation functions.
CHAPTER OUTREACH
Sally Maxwell (maxwell@us.ibm.com)
The Chapter Outreach Committee strives to be a proactive resource in strengthening our membership offerings outside the Atlanta area. This committee is divided into three sub-categories: Atlanta Chapter Outreach, Southeast Outreach and Summit Outreach. Atlanta Chapter Outreach focuses on our membership offerings outside Atlanta. This past year we coordinated a meeting in Birmingham for our members in Alabama. Other target areas include Columbus, Macon and Savannah. Southeast Outreach focuses on assisting emerging chapters in the Southeast (Carolina, Florida and Tennessee) in order to provide guidance and assistance in developing and growing their chapter. Summit Outreach is focused on coordinating leadership meetings at the upcoming Summits with other Southeast Chapters.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Andrea Dalton-Lay (adlay@nortel.com)
The Community Outreach Committee focuses on giving back to the Atlanta Community at two annual events: Junior Achievement and Community Outreach. Each February volunteers are coordinated to participate in teaching classes at Terry Mill Elementary School. This half day of teaching is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying contribution we make each year. The selected focus is the St Jude's Recovery Center, an interim home for recovering women and their children, which has multiple locations for sustainable outreach. This year's efforts will concentrate on one of the centers by enhancing the exterior and interior of the facility with painting, new carpeting, landscaping, outdoor furniture, and other ancillary repairs.
PROGRAMS
Scott Jennings (sjennings@holder.com)
The Programs Committee is tasked with providing our numerous education programs for our members and sponsors. Their efforts are focused on the annual Education Forum which provides a concentrated day of learning with 6 course offerings and other monthly programs throughout the year. Topics, speakers and presentations are reviewed and approved by this committee prior to scheduling.
NETWORKING
Anna Ford (anna.ford@am.jll.com)
This Networking Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss ideas and themes for our popular Networking Events. This committee has encouraged leadership within the Atlanta Chapter by having members volunteer to be a "champion" for each event. The champion volunteers to plan and coordinate one Networking Event during the year from selecting the location, menu and writing the description of the event for our Communications Committee to broadcast to the membership.
Committee members also work closely with the Golf Tournament Committee. This requires coordinating volunteers for the Annual Golf Tournament and Networking event that follows.
MEMBERSHIP
Jackie Gauthreaux (jackieg@popeandland.com)
The Membership Committee of the Atlanta Chapter is an important link between the Headquarters of Corenet Global and our individual chapter success. The primary purposes of the committee are to attract, orient & mentor new members and retain existing members. Each of these roles has sub-committees within the Membership committee. One new area that Membership is currently addressing is outreach to new, younger members (i.e. Young Leaders). Our Young Leaders sub-committee is addressing issues of attracting, retaining and mentoring the future leaders of Corenet Global.
COMMUNICATIONS
Bill Bland (bbland@choateco.com)
The Communications Committee is two-fold with responsibilities to communicate internally to our Members and Sponsors and externally to the Atlanta business community. Communication efforts include email blasts about upcoming events, quarterly newsletters, additional printed material for distribution to members and non-members, and website management. This committee is valuable resource for all committees planned events and recorded successes.
