From Higher Ed to Higher Performance: Striking a Balance

The way students "work" in college is very different from how most organizations allow new hires to "work". Students develop a work style to maximize productivity working in teams and in numerous settings (classroom, lab, library dorm, student union, etc.). As long as the assignment is completed on time, students are free to "work" at any time or in any place that aligns with their life style.  In contrast, most companies are not organized to support that work style. So the student must re-learn how to be successful. Obviously it’s in the University's and the Corporation's best interest to make the student-employee productive as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, universities want to learn how to create collaborative office spaces. Many universities have progressive and collaborative classrooms, but their office spaces are silo'd. This unique talk show format will bring together SME's from Higher Ed, Human Resources, and CRE in a lively unscripted conversation to create lasting value for all.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify ways to adapt your Workplace Strategy so that new college hires can leverage the work style that made them successful in college in order to accelerate their adding value to the bottom line.
  • Discover from Human Resource experts the impact that Workplace has on performance, what aspects to amplify, and what to discard.
  • Build bridges with the Higher Education community through the sharing of corporate best practices in the design and delivery of collaborative spaces.
