Global Innovator's Award
Celebrating the Forward-Thinkers, Innovators & Game Changers in Corporate Real Estate
The H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator’s Award (GIA) recognizes excellence and innovation in corporate real estate (CRE). Since 2000, the award has honored the “game changers” in CRE—those individuals and companies whose work, ideas and best practices elevate the practice of corporate real estate.
Nominees for the GlA are chosen from project submissions in three categories—Sustainable Leadership, Economic Development and Industry Excellence. The winner of the Global Innovator’s Award is recognized live on-stage at CoreNet Global’s Annual North America Summit, during the annual Awards & Recognition Dinner. Their achievement is also showcased in the LEADER magazine and the Knowledge Center Online, and distributed via CoreNet Global press releases.
This year's GIA competition was held at Harvard University July 29-30, 2015.For more information, contact Tim Venable at email@example.com.
OVG Real Estate, The Edge Win 2015 H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator’s Award (GIA)
OVG Real Estate, and its Amsterdam office building - The Edge, have received the H. Bruce Russell Global Innovator’s Award from CoreNet Global for 2015.
The Edge, a multi-tenant office building, is currently considered the most sustainable office building in the world. On the north-facing side of the building, the positioning and design of this millennial structure is based on the path of the sun so as to optimize the use of natural lighting. On the south face, solar panels create a shield from the sun and combined with the solar paneling on the roof, produce enough energy to run the aquifer thermal energy storage that in turn generates enough energy to power the heating and cooling system for the building. OVG Real Estate says The Edge is completely self-sufficient regarding energy usage; and they didn’t stop there. Rainwater is collected in reservoirs and used to operate the lavatories and also supply water to the rooftop garden. The lighting system is intuitive and responds to daylight, movement and temperature. And with features like climate control for individual workspaces that employees can manage through an app, The Edge is living up to its current title of “World’s Most Sustainable Building”.
The Edge and OVG received the Sustainable Leadership Awarded presented by CoreNet Global in 2015 and went on the be awarded The 2015 Global Innovator’s Award ahead of more than 40 submissions from corporate real estate projects from around the globe.
