The workplace of the future is an on-demand human resources tool. Workplace amenities provided by technology companies like Google are desired by companies of all sizes to drive talent attraction and retention. The needs of today's increasingly millennial workforce have changed, and workplace amenities are regarded as a top priority when selecting a place to work. However, the "Googleplex" workplace environment, with unlimited snacks and on-demand fitness classes is not easily attainable for the average enterprise company. The solution? Office buildings with amenities that allow landlords compete to meet the demands of forward thinking office building tenants. As an example, the office of the future has catering services – essentially "office room service" – that can be ordered from a centralized commissary and brought to meetings, all orchestrated by a landlord or landlord partner. Shifting from internalized amenities and services to a more centralized and communal provision of services are soon going to be part of the landlord proposition, enabling companies of all sizes to offer "Googleplex" environments to employees. Companies of all sizes will soon be using the workplace as a tool to compete for talent.
