There’s been a great deal of media coverage lately about so-called “drones,” or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). More than just a technological marvel, they have plenty of potential to change the way business is done in the future – and even some aspects of corporate real estate management. Chris has been conducting research on UAVs for years. “Unmanned aircraft is not a new idea,” he explained. “It actually dates to the 1840s.” Today these aircraft are known by various names: unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and drones. The name “drones” has stuck because it appears so often in the media. “But UAS is perhaps the most accurate because it’s not just the vehicle,” Chris said. ”It’s an entire system that makes it work.”
