CRE Survival - Strategies for Flexibility and Resilience - Jones Lang LaSalle

October 2006

Contribution from Jones Lang LaSalle. Now that CRE has become a recognised contributor, it is unlikely that the pressure to control real estate costs will relax. However, the process of doing so will get tougher as we are now moving out of a low-cost environment (in relation to occupancy costs in many key Asian cities) into a higher-cost environment. The implications of this for CRE are, to strategically control costs and build in flexibility in portfolio and accommodation plans as firms pursue top-line growth. This paper explores the approaches available and reviews some case studies to show what can be achieved.
