In partnership with Deloitte Consulting, CoreNet Global surveyed their membership in April to identify trends and key considerations relative to the selection, adoption, and management of real estate & facilities management IT platforms. We are here today because the industry lacks clarity and direction, given the large investment required by corporations to implement and maintain real estate & facilities management IT platforms. The CRE IT landscape remains highly fragmented and real estate service providers have not succeeded in deploying standard information technology across their respective portion of the market. Corporations, therefore, are faced with an "in-source vs. outsource" decision, which is made more complex by the perceived lack of investment on the part of outsourcing firms. This survey was performed in order to: 1. Gauge the extent of use of information technology systems by Real Estate & Facilities departments 2. Determine if companies are using existing, legacy IT platforms or transitioning to new ones 3. Identify which IT platforms are being used 4. Recognize the cost and benefits associated with implementing a new information technology system
