History of CoreNet Global

CoreNet Global is the world’s leading professional association for corporate real estate and workplace executives, service providers, and economic developers. The over 7,000 member organization took shape from the April, 2002, merger of the former International Development Research Council (IDRC) and the International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE International). Members of both associations approved the merger at the first CoreNet Global Summit, which was held in Salt Lake City in the spring of that year. The first Chairman of the Board was Matthew Cullen, then of General Motors. The first Chairman-elect was Sean McCourt, then of Ford Motor Land.

CoreNet Global leverages the rich histories and heritages of both its predecessors, which had a combined life span of over 60 years predating the merger. Today, CoreNet Global has become the real estate industry’s association of choice as the only group to convene the entire supply chain of corporate real estate. Professionals earning the prestigious designations of Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) and Senior Leader of Corporate Real Estate (SLCR) from CoreNet Global gain validation of their strategic management skills. CoreNet Global’s extensive worldwide network reaches across  46 chapters based in major cities internationally.
